Just making a conscious effort to post less. Most (not all) people on here are dicks and I don't want to waste my time with them.

Pop my head in to post on the betting thread and have a nose.

Not a WHOicide, just a break for a while

Are you 'worried' about getting raped by a dirty Turk?

She's worried she won't be..

Nurse

If you are scantily clothed, young nubile woman you will get stared at anywhere. But as you ain't I doubt anyone will notice you. the goats will probably get more attention.

Turkish people are very curtious and hospitality is very important culturally. Excpoct for my wife who's a bitch.

This is a great website for researching a trip:

http://www.turkeytravelplanner.com/details/WomenTravelers/index.html

The old town part of Istanbul, Sultanahmet, is full of tourists, anyway.

Turkey is lovely. Beautiful country. Not seen anything but courteous respect towards women when over there. Although you do see a lot of old dears carrying massive amounts around on their backs whilst the blokes all have a smoke and a chat in the street...

Went as part of a cruise in 2013. Done our own thing rather than an organised tour and the only person who was targeted by people trying to sell something was me. Missus and grown up kids were left alone and Gould it highly amusing.

You will offered guides of the mosque, guidebooks of Istanbul and lots of other shit by people who try to make out they are helping you and then asking for donations. Drove me bonkers to be honest.

If you can out up with that it is a fantastic place to visit and very vibrant. Did not have any real problems and away from the main sights things are pretty normal. You can always pop across the bridge to Asia where it seemed a bit quieter. We had a cab driver on call and paid him less than £100 for the day and no money changed hands until the end of the day. He dropped us off everywhere and picked us up at arranged times and was able to give some info. Spend some time sitting in the park where the palace is. It's beautiful, peaceful but expensive for drinks.

It's just a knee jerk from watching a tv show. We've all done it.

She would be welcome into Private's quarters at anytime, although I feel it will be way too sunny for her here.

Ha ha! I thought along similar sceptical lines, because Nurse's horizons to date seem to be somewhat encumbered. But people change and if her trip goes well, she might think about going out to visit you on her next trip?

Coffee - Could be a stopover job on the way to the UK? I looked at it before.

If Ratched goes to Turkey on her own I will retire from WHO. I'd need prove, mind.

Never been, but definitely on the To Do list. If you can feel safe going, don't hesitate.

But I wonder if this is Nurse's way of announcing her recruitment to Islamic State?

Re: Istanbul - safe for a single female to visit?
Yes its pretty safe but Istanbul Is a big place so It has some dodgy areas but Sultan Ahmet the Grand bazaar is a great place to start as it is full of Police and no protests are allowed their, Taksim can be a protest area keep away.

Dress slightly conservatively and you should be OK but if I am honest I would be happier If you went with someone because a foreign place Is a foreign place.
